CBSE opened the CTET application portal a second time, from 25 August to 1 September 2026, for eligible candidates who could not apply in the first window. Candidates who had already applied did not need to apply again.

The notice records that 21 editions of CTET have been conducted so far and that the result of the 21st edition was declared on 30 March 2026. The application window for the 22nd edition had been open from 11 May 2026 to 10 June 2026.
It states that the Supreme Court, in its judgment in Review Petition (Civil) Diary No. 53434/2025 in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025, emphasised the need to afford eligible teachers a reasonable opportunity to comply with the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed TET qualification, and that in view of this the online application portal was opened from 25 August 2026 to 1 September 2026. Candidates who had already submitted an application were told they need not apply again.
The notice ends by saying that the revised date of the examination would be announced after the portal closed. That date was announced on 14 September 2026.
